There was this one time

when I thought I had it all together.
Thought I knew where I was headed in life.

Now I'm lucky to get through a week at a time without it falling to pieces.

When I was in my teens I
1. Did not want children.
2. Wanted to live in the southwest.
3. Wanted to sing opera.
4. Didn't care about what others thought of me as long as 'weird' was involved.
5. Moved to Virginia which was, technically, south and west of where I started out.

When I was in my 20s I
1. Wanted to get out of my miserable/abusive marriage.
2. Still didn't want to have children, but had one.
3. Left Virginia for Texas - further west and south...

In my 30s I
1. Had another child. (No, I don't regret either one)
2. Moved to Kentucky!
3. Came to grips with past transgressions against my person.
4. Said no 3 times when asked to get married. (same guy all 3 times)
5. Moved to Alabama.
6. Got my first tattoo.

In my 40s I
1. Moved from Alabama to Vermont, back to Alabama, to Texas, to Colorado and back to Alabama.
2. Decided Alabama is NOT the place I want to live out my days.
3. Developed high blood pressure. (Colorado)
4. Developed an irregular heartbeat. (Colorado)
5. Started learning more about herbal medicinals and eschewed modern drug therapy.
6. Still don't care what others think about me, as long as 'weird' is involved.

But still, there was this one time when I thought I had a plan.
