On Music and Dreaming
Music colors my dreams.
I don't mean the music IN the dream. The music I have playing while I'm sleeping.
I don't sleep at all well as you may have seen me comment about in earlier posts, so anything that helps is highly welcome. Music helps.
I can fall asleep to almost anything. I've been known to fall asleep listening to Black Sabbath cranked to the full capability of the speakers during a loud party. In the room with the speakers. Right next to them.
I gotta tell ya, Black Sabbath can make for some odd dreams.
So can Frank Sinatra.
My current sleep music is A Celtic Tale by Jeff and Mychael Danna, the unnarrated version. This lulls me into a pastoral dreaming mode, which may or may not be remembered in full but the fragments alone are worth it. To me.
I've also listened to Gregorian Chant relentlessly in the past and still choose it about once a week. Most notably of course, The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos.
On that note (pun, bad, yes) back to sleep.
