Tinkering

I tinker too much. I try to fix things that are fine the way they are.

I was once told by a very dear old man, that if you were inspired to begin with it doesn't need tinkering. If you weren't inspired, it's not worth tinkering with. He was referring to writing at the time, but I've seen that it works in all aspects of creativity/life.

So why then do I tinker?

My dad told me it was in my genes, so I washed them.

And yet I tinker.

Who needs to know this? No-one in particular.

I have found out things great and small, that have added to the texture of the being that is me.
For instance, changing just 2 ingredients in a long island iced tea will turn it into a kick-ass frou-frou drink that I call a Baja-sunset. It was well received at the No-Frills Grill in Denver/Aurora, sadly shut down now due to poor selling practices. :(

And yet I tinker.

I tinker to learn, I tinker to improve, I tinker to destroy.

It's in my genes.
